Vegan Gelateria Conscious Creamery Opens Brick-and-Mortar in Sacramento
Summer is right around the corner, and there’s nothing better than a cold scoop of ice cream in the midst of a heat wave. If you’re looking for a delicious new gelato shop to carry you through the humidity, then Conscious Creamery is the perfect place for you. Serving up a diversity of artisanal small-batch all-vegan flavors, this shop can’t go wrong!
After falling in love with an all-vegan ice cream shop they visited on their 30th wedding anniversary in Europe, plant-based couple Andrea and Kevin Seppinni became inspired to try and replicate its success upon their return to America. With Andrea’s background in vegan food preparation and a mutual love for thick creamy Italian gelato, the idea to start Conscious Creamery was born. Putting on several pop-ups at farmers markets and outdoor events, the Seppinni’s business started out small. But, with a regular rotation of seasonal flavors made in small batches, it’s no surprise that Conscious Creamery discovered an increasing community demand for a more stationary brick-and-mortar location. Launching a permanent set-up in Oak Park on April 1st, Conscious Creamery now offers over-the-counter service and local delivery to the Sacramento area, in addition to a quaint outdoor sit-down area in front of their shop.
Conscious Creamery’s all-vegan menu has a variety of options, from single scoops to shakes, ice cream tacos, gelato bars, and a customized Waffle Sundae Special every Sunday—where you get to choose your own gelato flavor and sweet toppings to place on a fresh hot waffle. While still making classic Italian flavors like Stracciatella and Hazelnut, Conscious Creamery also offers unique flavors like Matcha Strawberry Ripple, Irish Creme, Cashew Cluster Caramel Swirl, and Leslie’s Rocky Road.
Conscious Creamery’s new location can be found at 3400 Broadway, Sacramento, CA 95817. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, ice cream fanatics can swing by this new spot on Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon-7pm, Fridays from noon-9pm, Saturdays from 11am-9pm, or on Sundays from 11am-6pm.
