This Eco-Friendly Shop Delivers All the Grocery, Household, and Personal Care Items You Need

Public Goods is your one-stop shop for groceries, household items, and personal care products. Their membership program allows you to browse healthy, sustainable options at affordable prices. The company’s minimalistic packaging and simple design keeps costs low and aesthetics pleasing.

How it works: For a $59 annual membership fee, you shop for slightly above factory cost (significantly below average retail). For every new member, Public Goods donates the money to plant a tree through Eden Reforestation Projects.

While not completely vegan, the company supports cruelty-free manufacturing practices and stocks loads of plant-based products.

Public Goods stays true to their eco-friendly mission by providing plenty of biodegradable, compostable, water-saving items for use around your home. Try their liquid hand soap or moisturizer bottles and then purchase the 34oz refill bags. Other items that come in refillable options include dental floss, shampoo, conditioner, and dish soap.

While you’re adding to that cart, don’t forget the groceries. You’ll find nut butters, pastas, teas, and agave! Order canned goods in bulk (6 count cans of beans and veggies for $10.75) or pick up convenience items such as a 4-pack of oatmeal cups (just add boiling water!), Dried Split Pea Soup Mix, or Apple Cinnamon Snack Bars. They’ve also got your spices, condiments, and dressings. You’ll find gluten-free options as well.

Why we really, really like them: Public Goods donates excess products to charities, shelters, schools, and projects such as Skid Row Carnival of Love, Feeding America, The Homeless Period Project, The Bowery Mission, and more.
