Vegan Restaurant Nosh Pit Opens Brick-and-Mortar in Royal Oak, Michigan
Nosh Pit Detroit opens the doors to its new Royal Oak location on June 6. The vegan eatery spent many years in Hamtramck, but after their building was sold, they were forced to find a new home. Luckily a perfect spot in Royal Oak became available at just the right time.
Nosh Pit Detroit’s General Manager, Trevor Smith, shares, “The new space is larger and will provide a lot of room for creative growth and the ability to expand the menu.” Part of that creative growth will include a brand-new gluten-free vegan bakery that will serve pop-tarts, cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and more. In addition to the bakery, they are working on crafting their own house-made sodas, and plan to create ice cream floats using one of their new partners, Ice Cream Plant.
Aside from sweet treats, Nosh Pit’s main menu will stock familiar favorites, but Smith shares they will be utilizing new equipment and space to add a new line of plant-based meats. The vegan meats will be added to sandwiches and dishes, with the ultimate goal of making it available in markets throughout Metro Detroit.
Inclusive Community Partners
While continuing to grow is a priority for Nosh Pit Detroit, they also want to be inclusive community partners. “We want to give back to the community. We wouldn’t be here without the community,” Smith shares. The restaurant will be a safe space for everyone, no matter race, sexual orientation, or religion. They plan to partner with local organizations on events to bring the community into their space.
Where to Find Nosh Pit Detroit
Nosh Pit Detroit’s opening is June 6. They are located at 304 N Main St, Royal Oak, MI 48067. They will be open all week, except Tuesdays, with brunch available from noon-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
