LA’s Ramen Hood Is Coming to Detroit This Month
This all-vegan pop-up will serve ramen, cocktails, and more!
This month, a Los Angeles-based vegan restaurant is coming to Hazel Park, Michigan. Ramen Hood, a vegan ramen shop located in Downtown LA, will pop up beginning on Wednesday, October 13 at Hazel Park’s FRAME—a creative hub that develops carefully curated programs of chef residencies and experiences.
Ramen Hood’s Signature Vegan Ramen
As the FRAME chefs-in-residence for the month, chefs Ilan Hall and Rahul Khopka of Ramen Hood will be serving Ramen Hood’s signature vegan ramen. The classic dish features sunflower seed broth made from pressure cooking shiitake mushrooms, kombu seaweed, roasted sunflower seeds, and white miso, as well as a vegan egg that features a runny yolk, and slices of OmniFood’s plant-based OmniPork for extra protein and flavor.
In addition, guests can also enjoy chef curated wine and cocktails from the FRAMEbar, including a wine list by FRAME beverage director Sean Crenny and a cocktail menu from FRAME’s Jazmin Weaver.
OmniPork Plant-Based Pork Protein
The OmniPork plant-based pork protein being used by Ramen Hood has increased in popularity with both vegans and foodies alike throughout the United States. OmniPork is available in three varieties—ground, strips, and luncheon—all of which are made using a proprietary blend of plant-based protein from non-GMO soy, peas, shiitake mushrooms, and rice. Each variety of OmniPork can be seasoned, steamed, pan-fried, stuffed, or crumbled, and contains less saturated fat and less calories when compared to its animal-based counterparts.
OmniPork can be found at select Sprouts Farmers Market and Whole Foods stores.
The Ramen Hood plant-based pop-up will take place at 23839 John R Road #2, Hazel Park, MI 48030, and will run from Wednesday, October 13 until Sunday, November 14. While no pre-purchased tickets are needed, more information on the pop-up as well as reservations can be found by visiting framehazelpark.com.
