Whether you’re in the mood for traditional Southern BBQ or a good ol’ slice of pepperoni pizza, stop by one of these Black-owned restaurants to satisfy all of your heart’s vegan desires! Here are 10 Black-owned vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants to support in Atlanta!

Slutty Vegan

Multiple Locations

Famous in the vegan community for their risqué menu item names, Slutty Vegan serves up the ultimate plant-based comfort food. Opt for the Fussy Hussy (plant-based patty loaded with pickle, vegan cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and slut sauce on a vegan Hawaiian bun), or try the Side Heaux, a basket full of New Orleans-style crispy shrimp tossed in Buffalo sauce with a side of fries, sweet & spicy coleslaw, and house-made ranch dipping sauce.

Go Vegan Grill

Decatur, GA

The South is known for having delicious soul food, and Go Vegan Grill is no exception. Stop by for lunch to try Southern-style dishes like fried chick’n with mac ‘n’ cheese, collard greens, and cornbread, or make dinnertime delicious with the shrimp Creole platter. Add tasty sides like rice, black-eyed peas, vegan baked beans, potato salad, and candied yams to complete your order. In addition, the eatery also offers classic chicken and fish baskets made with plant-based ingredients, like chick’n strips, fried shrimp, fried tilapia, and wings, each of which comes with a side of fries.

Life Bistro

Sylvan Hills

Life Bistro offers classic American bites with a vegan twist. The plant-based eatery aims to help others transition to a more conscious diet through their tasty vegan dishes. Start your meal with shareable plates like the Lobsta’ Mac and Cheese (creamy Creole mac with “lobsta” made from konjac root and topped with sweet potato bacon) followed by entrees like the Fried Shrimp Po’ Boy or the Southwest Steak Burger. If you’re in town for the weekend, stop by for the weekend brunch specials, complete with chick’n & waffles, avocado Texas toast, mimosas, beer, and wine!

Lov’n It Live

East Point, GA

This farm-to-table eatery offers organic plant-based dishes, many of which are served raw to preserve nutrients. The nori rolls present a unique twist to traditional spring rolls and come filled with fresh ingredients like nutmeat, tomato, avocado, onion, and field greens, all wrapped up in nori seaweed sheets. Quesadillas, pizza, nachos, lasagna, and more are also on the menu, so there is something for every palate to enjoy.

Tassili’s Raw Reality

Little Five Points

Curious about trying raw vegan cuisine? Tassili’s Raw Reality is a great place to start. The restaurant specializes in raw vegan dishes inspired by founder Tassili Ma’at’s international palate. Wraps are the star of the menu and can be made to order by choosing from a variety of toppings and sauces. We suggest fueling up with the spicy kale wrap, which is filled with soy mayo, spicy kale salad, avocado, and tomato in your choice of a whole wheat or gluten-free coconut wrap.

Grass VBQ Joint

Stone Mountain, GA

Get your BBQ—or should we say VBQ—on at this all-vegan Southern eatery. Grass VBQ specializes in sandwiches and mock meats that are made in-house, such as the smoked hot link sandwich (house-made smoked sau’sage, Cincinnati chili, beer cheeze, and caramelized onion) and the Nashville Hot Chick’n (house-made seitan chick’n drenched in a sweet, smoky, and spicy Nashville Hot Sauce, topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and dijon aioli). For a true Southern experience, go for the fried green tomato PBLT with a side of celery slaw.
